Diwali is approaching.
A festival of lights and colors. Today I am sharing one of the most
common dishes that is being served at every home. It is one of the simplest but
yet the tastiest snack that you can munch on.
Ingredients:
Maida – 2 cups
Ghee – 1 tbsp
Sugar – ½ cup (Powdered preferred)
Salt – according to your taste
Water – to knead the dough
Oil – for deep frying
Method:
In a bowl mix Maida, salt and ghee properly.
Add the powdered sugar and mix well. Little by little add
water to form a soft dough.
Keep the dough to rest for 10-15 minutes.
Divide the dough into five big portions. Roll them like a chapathi. Meanwhile start heating the oil for deep
frying. Take a knife and cut lines in a check form. Take each individual pieces
which look like a diamond and deep fry them.
Continue the same with rest of the dough.
Note: You can place the diamond cut pieces on the frying
spoon so that all the pieces are dropped into the oil simultaneously.
