Ingredients:
- Button Mushroom : 100 gms
- Mustard seeds and Urad dal – 1 tsp
- Green chili – 2 nos
- Curry leaves – 1 sprig
- Garlic – 5 to 6 pieces
- Onion – 1 no
- Turmeric powder – a pinch
- Chili powder – 1/2 spoon(as per your spice level)
- Coriander powder – 1 spoon
- Chicken masala powder – 1/2 spoon
- Chilli Vinegar
- Salt and oil – as required
Method
Clean the mushroom in water and allow the water to drain off. Cut it into smaller chunks.
Chop the onion into fine long slices and keep aside. Peel and crush the garlic and keep this aside.
In a pan, heat a little oil. Once the oil is hot, add mustard seed and urad dal. As soon as it splutters, add the curry leaves and chopped green chili. After about 20 seconds, add crushed garlic and fry till the garlic turns brown.
Add the chopped onion and fry until the onion turns golden brown. This will take time, but it is important to fry until the onions are golden brown.
Add the mushrooms into the pan. Close the lid and fry for 5-6 minutes. Keep stirring in between. Now add turmeric powder, coriander powder, chicken masala and salt. Fry this for a few more minutes. Now add a cup of water and keep cover the pan. Cook in slow flame. After a few minutes. Add a tsp of chili vinegar and mix well.
The mushroom should be cooked by now. Take it off the stove and serve hot.
