Unni appam recipe


Ingredients 

Rice flour                1 cup
Wheat flour             1 cup
Jaggery                    200 gms
Coconut gratings     1 cup
Cardamom powder  ½ tsp
Sesame seeds           2 tsp
Dry coconut             2 tb sp
Ghee                        2 tsp
Banana(small)           2

Method

Melt jaggery with 2 cups of water and filter. Boil the filtered jaggery in a pan, continue  till the syrup thickens. Add grated coconut and stir well for 5 minutes.Add ghee and cardamom, mix well and keep aside.

Scrape off the brown skin of dry coconut and cut into tiny,thin pieces. Fry  the pieces lightly in ghee. Fry the sesame seed for 2 seconds.

Mash banana well .

Mix all  the ingredients together with hand and keep covered for 2 hours, The batter should have  dropping consistency.  Heat an unniappam pan and pour oil. Using a table spoon,  drop  the batter in each depression  and fry on both sides till golden brown in medium heat.

Soft delicious unniappam is ready.There  will be  35  small unniappams with  the above measurement.
