Hummus

Ingredients

Chicpeas             1 cup
                            (150 gms)
Garlic                  2
Tahini                  3 tb sp
Oliveoil              4 tb sp
Lemon juice        1 tb sp
Chillipowder      ½ tsp

Method

          Pre heat oven to 160 C  and spread 4 tb sp  sesame seeds on a cooking sheet  and keep it in the oven for a few minutes . Do not let the colour change. Blend with olive oil to a smooth paste. This is tahini.

          Soak chic peas overnight and cook till soft. When cool , remove the skin and put them in a blender with garlic, salt, tahini  and blend. Add lemon juice  and blend for some time. Add 2 tb sp olive oil and blend again to  a smooth paste. Take it out from the blender and refrigerate. Just before serving, drizzle the remaining oil and sprinkle chilli powder.

Hummus is very good with fresh carrots.
