Fish Pie

Ingredients

Fish Pie recipe
  • Sear Fish (Or any other fish with white flesh) : 750 gms
  • Milk : 1/2 litre
  • Chopped Onions : 2 nos
  • Cloves : 2 nos
  • All purpose flour : 2 tbsp
  • Butter : 50 gms
  • Nutmeg : 1 pinch
  • Chopped Parsley :  2 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper powder : 1 tsp
  • Potato : 700 gms
  • Cheddar cheese : 2 tbsp


Method

Cook fish in 1 1/2 cup of milk, onion, salt, pepper and cloves in a low flame. Once cooked, remove fish from the gravy and chop it into small pieces. Keep the fish aside. Remove the cloves from the gravy.

Heat 25 gms butter in a pan and fry the flour for a minute. Mix it with the gravy prepared above. Cook till the gravy thickens (Approx 1 minute). Remove from fire and let it cool. Once the gravy cools, add the chopped fish and mix carefully.

Topping
Cook the potato and mash it with 25 grms butter and 1 1/2 cup milk. Shred the cheese into the mash and mix well till its a smooth blend.

Pre heat oven to 180 degrees. Take an oven proof dish and butter the dish. Spread the fish gravy in the dish and top it with the topping prepared above. The topping should cover the fish completely. Poke with a fork so that air will escape. Bake in oven for 30 minutes at 180 degrees.

Garnish with chilli flakes and parsley leaves. Serve hot.
