Crunchy Cabbage Thoran


Crunchy  Cabbage Thoran recipe

Ingredients

  • Cabbage               200 gms
  • Green chillies        3
  • Ginger juice          1 tsp
  • Turmericpowder ¼ tsp
  • Curryleaves
  • Mustard seeds      ½ tsp
  • Dry red  chilli       1
  • Salt
  • Oil                        2 tsp
  • Coconut gratings  ½ cup
  • Rice                      1 tsp
  • Urad dal               ½ tsp

Method

Chop cabbage, and green chillies fine. Add ginger juice, salt, a few curry leaves,  turmeric powder, and grated coconut and rub in all together with your hand. Keep for 5 minutes.

Heat oil in a pan, crackle mustard seeds, add dry red chilli and rice and urad dal. Add cabbage and stir well. Continue stirring for 2 minutes. Add some curry leaves, stir and stop cooking. See that cabbage is not overcooked. 2 minutes in high flame will do.

Serve with plain rice
