Boil 4 cups of water and add salt to the water. Add 3 cups of rice flour. Mix thoroughly and take it off the stove. Once the mixture cools down, knead it with hands until it is soft.
Put the dough to the iddyappam squeezer and squeeze fine threads of iddyappam into the idly maker. Now steam the iddyappam for 5 minutes. Hot steamy iddyappam is ready to serve.
